RAINCLOUD / Regenwolke
temporary pavillion 06/2009
client: tollwood festival gmbh, munich
the intention was to change an existing practical unit (4 office containers ) which served as an improvised video studio - (films were created and shown to an audience in that space) into something more imaganative but still serving its original purpose. The inspiration turning the containers into anartificial raincloud emerged from the ephemeric consistsance of a real cloud. It looks like a huge aglomeration of cotton wool and consists of waterdust, it also changes its shape constantly, people perceive all kinds of animals or even buldings in a cloud, but neverthyless. It is something else than it seems to be.
Two containers were set on top of each other, and have been covered with polystorol mirrors ,on top of the containers a circular structure was mounted where 6000 silvergrey 3mm thick nylon-strings where attached, leaving a open passage threw the container ,where a sound installation of a heavy rainstorm could be heared .The top of the circular structure was crowned by several mirror cut- outs reflecting the sky.
